USING SHAQODOON SMS SYSTEM.

To use the system you first need to register in to the system using your mobile phone. You will need a list of command words in either in Somali or English available in shaqodoon website, http://shaqodoon.org/SMSCommand.aspx. This contains a list of command word that Shaqodoon SMS system recognises. The command words are both in Somali and English and the system will recognise both. All text messages will need to be sent to the short code ‘777’.

WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE.

  1. Mobile phone
  2. Telesom SIM card
  3. Access to list of command words
  4. Enough credits to complete a registration process (about $1.00)

FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW TO REGISTER IN TO THE SYSTEM.

  1. Using your mobile phone go to the text message section.

 

2.       Compose a new message with the command word REG to register as an employer or JOBREG to register as jobseeker.  Then send that message to ‘777’. Please refer to the list commands online. Please note you will be charged 200 Somaliland Shilling for every message you send. You will not be charged for incoming message that the Shaqodoon SMS system sent to you.

 

3.       The SMS system will return a message to your phone. From here on wards the registration process starts. Each time you send a message to ‘777’ you will receive a message back with another question. (i.e.)  1. What your name?, with this question all you do reply to the message you’ve by pressing the reply option and then entering your full name. After you’ve entered your full name now just send the message. If you cannot reply to the message for whatever reason then just send your full name to ‘777’ short code.

  1. There are questions with options which you can only choose one. To choose an option you need to enter the number of the option by replying to the message and typing the number then sending it to ‘777’.

 

5.       After the registration process you be issued with a PIN code and a short code to login in to your account. To Login you need these details as well as the SIM number you registered with. Please note to access the system via computer you need the PIN and password.

FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW TO LOGIN IN TO THE SYSTEM.

  • Use the following format to login to the system( Login [prefix] [PIN code]  ) i.e. Login SM 1234

 

  • After login you can perform other functions including uploading your CV and performing a job search if you’re  jobseeker or uploading job advertisement and performing a CV search if your employer.
