Kicking Off Capacity Building Workshops in Bakool!
Shaqodoon, with funding from the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA), is proud to announce the launch of a series of capacity-building workshops under the Anticipatory Action and Resilience Training (AART) Project in Somalia.
Empowering Communities in Bakool
This week, we kicked off a series of workshops for community groups, local authorities, and Disaster Risk Management (DRM) actors in the Wajid and Elberde districts of the Bakool region. These areas are situated along critical transhumance corridors, making their communities particularly vulnerable to climate shocks and displacement.
The AART Project's core objective is to strengthen local preparedness, response, and coordination in these at-risk areas. By equipping local actors with the necessary skills and knowledge, we are building resilience from the ground up.
A Collaborative Approach to Resilience
Led by our Senior Program Officer, Abdulkadir Mustafa, these trainings are a testament to our commitment to a community-led approach. We believe that true resilience is built by empowering those on the front lines—the local leaders and community members who are the first responders in a crisis.
Together, we are building local capacity where it matters most, creating a more prepared and coordinated network to respond effectively to the challenges posed by climate change. 💪🏽🌍
