Shaqodoon Hosts EU and Partners for Joint Review of Resilience Initiatives in Hargeisa
Shaqodoon Organization convened a high-level joint review meeting at its headquarters in Hargeisa, bringing together representatives from the European Union in Somalia, the Somali Resilience Program (SomReP) Technical Unit, World Vision Somalia, CARE Somalia, Danish Refugee Council (DRC/Dansk Flygtningehjælp), Oxfam Somalia, and relevant government officials.
The meeting focused on reviewing EU-funded priorities and interventions aimed at strengthening resilience, livelihoods, and sustainable development across Somalia. Participants assessed progress made under ongoing EU-supported initiatives, including the recently completed EU Breach Project implemented by Shaqodoon.
SomReP partners presented key achievements, lessons learned, and emerging opportunities for enhanced coordination and collaboration. In addition, the National Disaster Preparedness and Food Reserve Authority (NADFOR) shared updates on its upgraded mobile early warning system, highlighting its role in improving disaster preparedness and community-level resilience.
Shaqodoon also showcased its growing digital innovation portfolio, including platforms such as M-Dalag, Namaqal, Duunyo Raac, Saadaal Early Warning System, the Digital Skills Academy, crowdfunding initiatives, and other solutions focused on youth empowerment and job creation.
The engagement underscored the strength of partnerships among humanitarian, development, and government stakeholders, and reaffirmed a shared commitment to advancing resilience, employment opportunities, and long-term sustainable development throughout Somalia.
