EU IMPACT: Advancing Green Skills, Circular Economy & Agri-Food Innovation in Somalia
The EU IMPACT Project is a transformative initiative led by Shaqodoon Organization with support from the European Union, aimed at equipping 3,500+ youth and adults in Somalia with the green skills needed to thrive in a sustainable economy. Through partnerships with TVET institutions, government, and private sector actors, the project strengthens Somalia’s transition to renewable energy, circular economy practices, and resilient agri-food systems.
SIDA III: Inclusive Livelihoods for Vulnerable Pastoral Groups (Somaliland & Puntland)
Shaqodoon, as part of a consortium led by World Vision Germany and funded by SIDA, is implementing SIDA III in Somaliland and Puntland to build climate resilience and economic inclusion for vulnerable pastoral and agro-pastoral communities. The project empowers youth and women through digital skills training, entrepreneurship support, and innovative tools like M-Dalag and BulshoKaab, while promoting community-led development and accountability through tech-enabled feedback systems.
RAF: Resilience Design & Land Tenure Interventions in Jowhar, Hirshabelle
The project aimed to promote sustainable agricultural practices, and support inclusive land governance to reduce conflict and restore livelihoods. By integrating environmental restoration with land tenure reform, the project seeks to build a peaceful, adaptive, and self-reliant rural society in Jowhar.
AART: Anticipatory Action & Climate Resilience along Transhumance Corridors in Somalia
The project aims to strengthen preparedness, enhance early action capabilities, and build climate resilience among pastoral, agro-pastoral, and displaced communities. It includes designing effective EWS, implementing anticipatory action plans, and promoting sustainable agricultural practices that improve food security and social cohesion.
RFSS: Riverine & Pastoral Food System Strengthening
This project aims to improve the livelihoods of vulnerable households by focusing on sustainable agricultural practices, better market integration, and enhanced disaster resilience. The initiative includes developing the MDALAG, increasing access to agricultural inputs, and providing training on climate-resilient practices.
SomReP: Consolidating Resilience Gains in Somalia
Contribute to the resilience vulnerable Somali people, through enhanced food security, sustainable livelihoods and strengthened disaster risk management capacities in SWS by 2023.
